About Shoalhaven River Cruise

Our Scenic Cruises

Experience the beauty and tranquillity of the Shoalhaven River with our scenic cruises. Each upstream journey lasting around 2 hours departs from the Nowra Public Wharf in NSW, providing a unique perspective on the stunning landscapes. 

We offer regular Morning/lunch and Twilight cruises. Morning cruises depart at 11am. Twilight cruises depart at 4pm, generally about 90 minutes before sunset. 

Upriver cruises showcase the impressive cliffs, landscapes, and some of Nowra's premium visitor attractions.

The downstream "Fish & Chips" lunch cruises generally run fortnightly. Downstream cruises offer scenes of our growing industries, tranquil mangroves and peaceful farmland.

About our business

Shoalhaven River Cruise is a small family owned business, running with the help of local expertise. During the COVID-19 pandemic the cruise schedule was interrupted. This pause created the opportunity for the new owners to renovate the vessel, Shoalhaven Explorer, and install brand new engines and other equipment.

We are very keen to continue the proud traditions of Shoalhaven River Cruise and share the wonderful offerings of our local community.

    The maximum number of people the Shoalhaven Explorer can accommodate in comfort is 48 passengers and 6 crew members.  The vessel is however surveyed to carry up to 60 passengers. We generally close bookings when we have 35 confirmed bookings.

    We love to talk to potential customers! Please call 0429 981 007 to discuss your ideas. Leave a message in case we don't answer immediately, we might be busy with a cruise.

    No. Unfortunately you may not bring your pet or service animal on board.

    No. Every passenger we accomodate has different needs and fears, as a result we can not allow this.

    Passengers who inform us of any special dietary requirements will be well looked after. We will endeavour to make your cruise a very enjoyable event!

    It is required that the Master of the vessel is aware of all the passenger numbers, regardless of their ages. Babies and infants travel for free but a place must still be reserved for them.

    If it is safe and possible to do so, we generally retrieve items that go overboard to prevent littering. However, we do not take responsibility for personal items that fall over the side and is lost.

    From time-to-time we have to either postpone or cancel a cruise. In the unlikely event that this happens, we contact the passengers to let them know. Refer to our Terms and Conditions for further details.

    Yes, we offer both half-day and full-day charters. Contact us for more information on pricing and availability.

    We are a local family who owns and operates the business, with the help of local experts.

    This is non-smoking vessel. Sorry, no vapes either.

    Unfortunately the Shoalhaven Explorer was not designed to accommodate wheelchairs. We can recommend other regional cruise operators who do. Please contact us to discuss any other mobility issues, so we can assist you where possible!

    Our river is generally very flat and calm. If you forget to take your own seasick medication, our staff will offer some over-the-counter options.

    For the safety of yourself and others, flat footwear is recommended.
